Ingredients:
- 700 g beef, cubed
- 2 large onions, chopped
- 2 tbsp lard or oil
- 2 tbsp Hungarian sweet paprika
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 potatoes, cubed
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 tsp caraway seeds
- 1.5 liters beef broth or water
- Salt and black pepper
Instructions:
- Heat lard or oil in a large pot.
- Add onions and cook until golden.
- Remove from heat and stir in paprika.
- Add beef and coat well.
- Return to heat and cook for 5 minutes.
- Add garlic, tomato, green pepper, and caraway seeds.
- Pour in broth and simmer for 1 hour.
- Add carrots and potatoes.
- Continue cooking for 30–40 minutes until the meat and vegetables are tender.
- Season with salt and pepper.
