Ingredients:
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 7 g dry yeast
- 250 ml warm milk
- 80 g sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 60 g melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
For coating:
- 100 g sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)
- Melted butter
Instructions:
- Dissolve yeast in warm milk with a little sugar and let sit for 5–10 minutes.
- Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl.
- Add egg yolks, melted butter, vanilla, and yeast mixture.
- Knead into a smooth dough and let rise for 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough and cut into long strips.
- Wrap the strips around greased rolling pins or cylindrical molds.
- Brush with melted butter and roll in sugar (and cinnamon if using).
- Bake at 190°C (375°F) for 15–20 minutes, turning until golden and caramelized.
- Remove carefully and roll in extra sugar while still warm.
