Ingredients:
- 300 g egg noodles
- 1 small cabbage, finely shredded
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 tbsp oil or lard
- 1 tbsp sugar
- Salt to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper
Instructions:
- Cook the egg noodles in salted boiling water until tender. Drain and set aside.
- Heat oil or lard in a large pan.
- Add onion and cook until soft.
- Add shredded cabbage and sprinkle with sugar.
- Cook slowly for 20–25 minutes, stirring often, until the cabbage becomes golden brown and caramelized.
- Season with salt and plenty of black pepper.
- Add the cooked noodles and toss everything together.
- Cook for another 2–3 minutes so the flavors combine.
